My son (8), daughter (10), wife and I booked the Aloha Ride at Mendes Ranch on the eastern side of the West Maui Mountains. We had to move our reservation around a couple times because of Hurricane Lane but they were very accommodating. Once we got there we realized the ranch was located on perhaps the most beautiful spot in all of Maui. The ride involved some steeper trails that were still a little muddy but the guides took it slow and my kids (first time riding alone) had horses (Mordecai and Bailey) they were comfortable with and easy to steer. When we reached the halfway point, our kids said they never wanted the ride to end. I couldn’t blame them, the views from the trail were better than phenomenal. They were stunning. There wasn’t a lot of flat land but when there was, the guides gave us the opportunity to run the horses which our kids loved. Next time we return to Hawaii, the Aloha Ride will be at the very top of our list of things to do.
